Dr. Kamini Prakash Rege (Ph.D.) holds the position of an Assistant Professor, from the Department of Human Development, College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Affiliated to University of Mumbai, India and holds Treasurer position in ECA -India & APER. She has been teaching at the Graduate and Post-Graduate levels over the last 20 years. She’s a recognized Ph.D. guide in the specialization of Home Science by the University of Mumbai. Expertise in the specialization of Human Development and Early Childhood Care and Education she has contributed her valuable knowledge and proficiency to various institutions and organizations as an academician, consultant, and researcher.
Throughout her career, she has been awarded many accolades. Noteworthy among these are the “Rashtriya Vibhushan Award” for Outstanding Individual Achievement and Distinguished Services to the Nation in 2014, “Shiksha Rattan Puraskar” for outstanding performance and remarkable role in Education /Knowledge industry in 2012. She has been a consultant to several institutes and organizations associated with teacher training and education and deeply involved in the development of policy, programme and planning activities for young children. Having to her credit, several research papers, posters and publications at the State, National and International level, also had an opportunity to guide several research students in the area of Early Childhood Education, Parenting, Home-School Partnership, Marriage and Family Relations, Women Entrepreneurship, Celebrating Festivals and Multiculturalism, Innovative Teaching Techniques etc. She has developed innovative techniques for introducing curriculum, such as creative expression through role-play, anecdotes, critically evaluating and sharing records, videos, and films, demonstrations, workshops and hands-on experience with several target groups such as administrators, supervisors, teachers, children, adolescents, parents, graduate, and postgraduate students.
She’s associated as a life member of multiple organizations, such as ECA (Early Childhood Association- India, designated as the Treasurer – India), AECED (Association for Early Childhood Education and Development), HSAI (Home Science Association of India), Bal Shikshan Parishad, ARAHE (Asian Regional Association for Home Economics), International Play Association (IPA), Indian Scientist Association (ISA).
