Jaipur is the capital city of India’s desert state of Rajasthan. It’s located approximately 260 kilometers (160 miles) south-west of Delhi. Travel time is around 4 hours by road. Jaipur is also about 4 hours from Agra.

Jaipur is well connected to the rest of the world. It has an International airport with frequent flights to and from all major cities in India, as well as International locations.

Indian Railways connect Jaipur with all majors cities of India. The bus is also another option, and you’ll find services to and from many destinations.

Climate and Weather

The month of February is the best time to travel to Jaipur as the weather is at its least extreme. The days are warm and sunny, however, it is advisable to carry woolens as the evenings can be chilly.

Jaipur International Airport is about 12 kilometres southeast of the city. There’s a prepaid taxi counter at Jaipur airport and prepaid autorickshaw counter at the railway station. Alternatively, Uber and Ola offer convenient cab services that can be easily booked online using mobile apps.

Uber, Ola, Auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws are a few convenient and economical ways to cover short distances around Jaipur.
